Housing Choice Vouchers

The Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing Authority (WRHA) is proud to support individuals and families in finding stable, affordable housing through our Housing Choice Voucher program. This program helps eligible residents bridge the gap between their income and the cost of housing, ensuring access to safe and secure homes.

What are Housing Choice Vouchers?

Housing Choice Vouchers are part of a federally funded program designed to make housing affordable for low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. The vouchers allow participants to choose their own housing, including apartments, townhomes, or single-family homes, as long as the property meets program guidelines.

How does it work?

Participants pay approximately 30% of their adjusted income toward rent, with the voucher covering the remaining approved cost. WRHA works closely with landlords and property owners to ensure housing units meet health and safety standards.
