Board of Commissioners

Purpose

The Board of Commissioners serves as the legal and financial governing body of the Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing Authority and is the first line of accountability for the Authority’s performance.

WRHA is governed by nine Commissioners. To effectively guide the organization, the Board must remain engaged, informed, and aligned with the Authority’s mission, goals, plans, and policies.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Board of Commissioners provides leadership and sets the strategic direction of the Authority. Commissioners champion WRHA’s mission while ensuring long term financial stability and integrity.

The Board also provides oversight in key areas including compliance, finance, and performance.
A Commissioner is chosen on the basis of a demonstrated ability to represent the community, their professional experience, and their willingness to dedicate the time and energy required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.

Final authority, legal and fiduciary responsibility for the Authority lie with the Board of Commissioners.
